About

Published by

Hi, I’m Sara, and welcome to My Madison Bistro, my cooking and baking blog. Blogging keeps me trying new dishes, rather than falling back on familiar favorites. My approach to cooking is the essense of the bistro: simple, earthy, soul-satisfying…but when it comes to desserts, anything goes!

A Note About Product Reviews

Because I believe in honestly reviewing recipes I use – without holding back – I also believe in giving an honest review of products, as well. Any time I use a product I’ve been asked to review, I will always mention it in the blog post, as well.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to e-mail me at sara @ mymadisonbistro (dot) com

Thank you for visiting!

Emily, you can follow me using Google Reader or via Feedburner (there’s a link in the upper right corner of this page – it will also allow you to have posts delivered via e-mail, if you prefer).

Read through the entire recipe of your cranberry and orange pound cake and agree with your sentiments. Sometimes you have to eat what is called soul food. I have authored a book and you will be surprised to read what I have written about food…I believe that there is a bit of God in every human being and when we eat something that really satisfies us…that God is satisfied too for then he too has enjoyed it with us. A satisfying thought indeed.

What an awesome blog! I love the idea of soul food – I think it is so comforting. I am a clean eater and I write a blog with clean recipes (all natural, no preservatives, mostly organic) I am always looking for new recipes that I can clean up and your site is a great resource!

    Thanks! – Andrea

Roda, I sometimes waver (usually after a period of indulgence!) but I firmly believe that when it comes to food, we need to balance what our body needs with what our soul needs; lean too much one way or the other, and I generally don’t feel all that well.

Andrea, I hope you can have fun with the recipes.

I made your yummy keylime cupcakes today and both times I really messed up somewhere. My batter seemed SO airy that each time I had more than enough batter to fill 14+ cupcake liners. They didn’t rise in the middle…in fact, they looked like the sank. I followed the directions…any thoughts? But I must say that even flopped, they were delicious!

Are you aware that this person is republishing your content?

I had them remove several of my original photos and recipes yesterday. Just thought you might want to know in case you didn’t give permission either.
    All the best, Barry.

    Hi Sara,

My name is Claire Schmidt and I am the Lifestyles Intern for iVillage.com, an NBC Universal digital property. My food editor and I are currently compiling a slideshow of crazy green foods for St. Patrick’s Day. We loved the key lime cupcakes that you featured on your blog (http://mymadisonbistro.com/archives/key-lime-cupcakes) and would love to include this in our roundup.

Could you please provide us permission (just a quick “yes” through email will suffice) and a high-resolution photo of the key lime cupcakes? We will of course link back to the recipe and give you full credit for the image and idea. Please let me know!

    Thank you!
    Claire
